About McNair Construction
We Handle Everything, From Start To Finish
A building project with McNair Construction usually begins with a phone call to discuss what work you’d like done and to define the time frame you’re looking for. We will then set up an appointment to meet with you, review your proposed project, and listen closely to your thoughts on the project.
Armed with that knowledge, we will begin a plan – whether designing a complete floor plan or a simply planned deck, we will handle the design process. We will also take care of project estimates and the timeline to the completion of the project.
We will discuss the plan, budget, and material choices with you along the way so that there are no surprises. We will not leave your project until you are completely satisfied. From the initial idea to the final finishes, we are dedicated to your project and satisfaction.
Give us a call at (517) 549-8292 or send us a message to get started on your next construction project.
Tom McNair
Tom was born and raised in Hillsdale County and built his first house with his father and uncle John Barnett in 1975. They built his second house in 1991, which still stands today.
Tom worked at Bob Evans Farms until February of 1997, when he received his builder’s license.
During that time, Tom launched McNair Construction, staffed with one part-time helper. Today, McNair Construction includes Tom’s son Ryan and son in law Ken, along with 6 others, all together making up McNair Construction LLC.
Tom feels strongly about family and his life’s work. “My uncle John Barnett was a big influence in my career; he taught me a great deal when I was young. My father was also a big influence – it was he who taught me the value of tools as a young boy. My future goals are to leave a big enough footprint so that my son and son in law may carry on with the foundation that has already been built. My hope is there will be a place for my grandchildren to have for generations to come. After all, this is why we go to work; not for ourselves, but for our families. Because without them, there is no reason to work.”
Ryan McNair
Ryan has been working in the family business since middle school. He grew up working with both his father and grandfather for McNair Construction. Ryan worked on and off in this business until committing full-time over the last 10 years. When asked how it is to work next to his dad, Ryan says being able to spend time with his father every day is a bonus.
A Jonesville graduate, Ryan has lived all his life here and loves building in his own community, as he and his wife plan to stay and raise their two girls here. One of the perks of Ryan’s work is that there is something new every day and says Ryan, “We treat you like family!”
Ken Tressler
Ken has been building with McNair Construction for 10 years. His specialty is trim carpentry, window casings, and custom work. Ken says, “I enjoy the variety in my job. I meet all kinds of great people, go to many different job sites, and the work every day is different.”
Ken is a Jonesville High School graduate and married into the McNair family. He and his wife have two sons. He has always loved building things and began building cabinets as a teen. He looks forward to carrying on the family tradition of integrity and excellent craftsmanship.
